Learning Objectives: 

  1. Identify sensory processing, integration, and modulation challenges, including identifying 3 different types of sensory responses.
  2. Demonstrate 2 ways that sensory challenges impact children, their families, and their lived experiences, while also being sensitive to the encompassing impact of sensory differences with the neurodivergent community.
  3. Articulate the presence, impact, and interplay of sensory challenges with comorbid diagnoses and be able to differentiate between symptoms that are sensory vs those that are related more specifically to the co-morbid diagnosis.
  4. Articulate the role of occupational therapy practitioners and other professionals in treating and supporting children and families with a collaborative multidisciplinary approach.
