Dr. Josephine Lau is an adolescent medicine specialist. She cares for adolescent and young adult patients at the UCSF Adolescent and Young Adult Primary Care and Subspecialty Care Clinics in San Francisco, San Mateo, and Pleasanton, and at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco. She is currently an assistant professor of pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at UCSF.

Dr. Lau provides a comprehensive range of medical services to adolescents and young adults, including general health check-ups, reproductive health services, and chronic disease management. She has particular clinical interests in the management of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and eating disorders.  She is passionate about helping her patients acquire the skills they need to take care of themselves as they transition from adolescence to young adulthood

Current Research

Dr. Lau is a health services researcher with a focus on understanding adolescent and young adult utilization of preventive care, emergency room care and mental health services in the primary care setting.
