Fellowship Application Process | Department of Pediatrics

Three first-year fellowship positions are available in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at UCSF each year (for a total of 9 active ACGME fellowship positions). The UCSF Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Program participates in the Pediatrics Specialties Fall Match of the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). All applicants to the program must submit their applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). After review by the fellowship selection committee, applicants may be invited to come to UCSF for interviews with members of the Division of Neonatology and with prospective research mentors. Members of under-represented groups and minorities are particularly encouraged to apply.

IMPORTANT APPLICATION DATES FOR 2016 for 2017-2018 Academic Year

· June 7: Applicants may register with ERAS
· July 6: Applicants may begin uploading documents to ERAS
· July 15: ERAS Post Office opens - Programs begin downloading applications from ERAS
July - Aug: Applications are reviewed and candidates are invited to interview. All ERAS packets completed before the deadline will be reviewed, but we encourage candidates to complete their ERAS packets as early as possible - preferably by Aug 15th. Interview slots are limited .
· Aug - Oct: Candidate interviews. Late applications reviewed, if necessary.
· Sept 28: Match opens (12:00pm ET) for applicant and program registration
· Oct 26: Rank order lists (ROL) opens for submissions (12:00pm ET)
· Nov 30: Deadline for ROL submissions (9:00pm ET)
· Dec 14: MATCH DAY
· July 1, 2017: Fellowship Training Begins (NOTE: orientation may begin in late June)
