The Department of Pediatrics’ newest division was created in response to the growing recognition that parents and pediatricians need support in managing complex behavioral and learning problems. Tom Boyce, MD, serves as division chief and also heads a twice weekly Developmental Medicine Clinic at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

Clinical Programs

The Developmental Medicine Clinic provides consultative care for children and adolescents with behavioral challenges in areas such as academics, peer interactions, attention and learning differences.

Our faculty collaborate with colleagues in other divisions on research projects that complement our clinical program.

Pediatric residents work with division faculty to acquire an appreciation for the many dimensions of behavioral medicine.
