Biography

Dr. Julie Stein O'Brien is the Medical Director of the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Pediatric Primary Care Clinic where she works a primary care pediatrician. She sees patients both at the Mount Zion campus and at the Mission Bay campus. In her practice, she sees children for routine primary care, health maintenance, and sick visits. Her interests include preventative care, quality improvement and patient-physician communication. She is also interested in impact of health information technology on clinical practice and serves as the Benioff Children’s Hospital APeX Ambulatory Clinical Lead. Dr. O'Brien also enjoys teaching medical students and residents in her pediatric practice at UCSF Mount Zion and is the Professionalism Curriculum Director for Intersessions for 3rd year medical students.
