Associate Professor


My current research focuses on the interactions between human Cytomegalovirus (CMV) and specific hematopoietic and oral mucosal cell types. CMV is the source of serious disease in immunocompromised individuals including newborns, transplant recipients and AIDS patients. Our ultimate goal is to understand virus transmission, develop effective anti-CMV vaccines, and design new therapies to target CMV lytic and latent infections.
