- to develop nationally and internationally-recognized research programs in primary care pediatrics, particularly in prevention, screening, continuity of care, best practices for well-child care and the role of family, community, culture and policy in influencing child health.
- to be recognized and sought after as the leading experts by community, state and national policy-makers regarding matters of general pediatric health and health care
