Patient Care

Faculty of the Division of Pediatric Nephrology provide consultation and treatment for infants and children with various diseases of the urinary tract and kidney, including those resulting in kidney failure. We provide care for children who require acute or chronic dialysis and those who have undergone kidney transplantation. Care is provided through UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and its associated outreach clinics.

A multidisciplinary team of nephrologists, urologists, transplant surgeons, nurses, nutritionists and medical social workers provide care for the following conditions:

  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Hypertension
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Genetic malformations of the kidney
  • Bone and mineral metabolic disorders
  • Kidney failure, including dialysis and transplantation
