Laura Rubinos, MD
Dr. Rubinos is a member of the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators (AME) and currently holds one of the AME Endowed Chairs in Pediatric Education. In her term as endowed chair, Dr. Rubinos has co-funded several Innovations in Education grants within the department of Pediatrics and has supported the development of a mentorship framework for educators within the AME.
Dr. Rubinos' academic interests focus on providing mentorship for graduate medical education trainees as well as early career faculty. One of Dr. Rubinos' notable contributions was the development and implementation of an evidence-based mentorship program for all pediatric residents at UCSF and the annual tradition of celebrating the accomplishments of graduating pediatric trainees who identify as under-represented in medicine. Dr. Rubinos' expertise in mentorship has been shaped by her participation in the UCSF Teaching Scholars Program, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors Fostering UIM Education Leadership Program, and the AAMC LEAD certificate program.
