Relocation Allowance

Incoming Pediatric Interns have an opportunity to apply for a moving expense reimbursement of up to $1800.

Insurance

Health

Choice between two full coverage health insurance plans; an HMO or a PPO third party coverage plan. In addition to the standard medical benefits, each policy provides dental, vision and prescription coverage for the entire family.

Long-term Disability

Provided through Cigna: Premium cost is covered by the School of Medicine and the Medical Center.

Life

Provided for each trainee at $50,000. Premium cost for either health insurance plan is covered by the School of Medicine and the Medical Center.

Professional Liability

Full coverage is provided by the University at all University sites for training program activities.

Meals

Subsidized meals for residents on night or weekend extended shifts are provided. At the UCSF Children's Hospital site, this is in the form of a scannable debit card, honored at all campus food vendors. Meal cards are also provided at ZSFG and Kaiser.

Vacation / Educational Leave

Total paid vacation and/or educational leave: 4 weeks per year.
