Research

UCSF is recognized as a world leader in pediatric research and treatments. All divisions within the Department of Pediatrics are involved in studies designed to improve patient care. Many of these projects are facilitated through the NIH-funded Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI), a campus-wide institute dedicated to the rapid translation of research into improvements in patient and community health.

  • Faculty from the Department of Pediatrics are among the many UCSF experts who serve as principal or coinvestigators on studies designed to advance patient care. Our patients have access to the newest medications and treatments through an extensive network of clinical trials.
  • Children Helping Improve Pediatric Practice, Education & Research (CHIPPER) encompasses a number of ambulatory clinical studies coordinated through the Division of General Pediatrics.
