Melody Lun, MD, PhD

Dr. Melody Lun is a first-year clinical fellow in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at UCSF. She attended Boston University where she studied Biology and Architectural History. She then entered Boston University School of Medicine through the joint BA-MD program and earned a combined MD/PhD with a PhD in Pathology. She completed her dissertation under the mentorship of Dr. Maria Lehtinen, investigating the spatial heterogeneity of secreted factors from the choroid plexus into cerebrospinal fluid during embryogenesis and their role in guiding brain development. She completed her pediatrics residency at UCSF prior to starting fellowship. She is interested in studying the mechanisms regulating neurovascular development and how they relate to brain hemorrhages in premature infants
