The Division of Pediatric Nephrology is dedicated to providing expert clinical care for infants and children with kidney disease, training the next generation of pediatric nephrologists, and advancing our knowledge of how to improve the health of children with kidney disease, Our dedicated faculty, staff and fellows carry out this mission as they deliver outstanding care at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and affiliated programs.
For 50 years, the Division of Pediatric Nephrology has trained leaders in academic pediatric nephrology, superb clinical and basic research scientists, and outstanding clinical pediatric nephrologists. We also educate medical students and residents in the care of young patients with kidney disease.
Our division is known for excellence in basic science and clinical research aimed at improving outcomes for patients with chronic kidney disease and those undergoing kidney transplantation.
Our faculty members provide consultation and treatment for infants and children with a variety of diseases of the urinary tract and kidney, including those resulting in kidney failure. We provide care for children who require acute or chronic dialysis and those who have undergone kidney transplantation. Care is coordinated through the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and outreach clinics.
