Rachel Brim, MD

Biography

Dr. Rachel Brim is a clinical fellow in the Division of Neonatology at UCSF. She attended college at the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana where she majored in Neuroscience and minored in Music. She then attended Michigan State University where she obtained her MD and participated in the Leadership in Medicine for the Underserved Program. After college, she moved to San Francisco to attend residency at UCSF where she also completed a year as chief resident at San Francisco General Hospital. She then worked as a neonatal hospitalist in the ICN at UCSF prior to starting neonatology fellowship in July of 2019. Subsequently, she served as the Operations Director for pediatric intern recruitment at UCSF from 2017-2019. Her research to date has focused on long term neurocognitive outcomes in children after critical illness in low resource settings. She hopes to continue this focus on infant/child morbidity during her fellowship. Her other research and clinical interests include medical education, palliative care, health advocacy, and medical ethics.
