Learning Objectives:

  1. Support families through evidence-based breastfeeding initiation and continuation practices, and promote strategies to reduce the intake of sugar, salt, and processed foods and increase physical activity in older children. 
  2. Apply comprehensive screening and referral strategies for pediatric obesity by conducting diet and lifestyle assessments, and connect families to appropriate multidisciplinary services and community resources. 
  3. Leverage CDC's work in community settings to complement clinical pediatric obesity prevention, including in Early Care and Education (ECE) programs and increasing access to safe places for physical activity and healthy foods.
