Bedside Teaching: Keys to Success

Mini Workshop Series
-

Martha Elster

Facilitated by:

Martha Elster, MD
Associate Professor, Pediatrics

Objectives:

  1. Employ ways to effectively evaluate learners during rounds or at the bedside.
  2. Choose between various strategies to teach and model bedside clinical teaching.

Bedside teaching is one of the most powerful and memorable modalities for developing clinical reasoning, enhancing communication, and providing patient-centered care. Yet in the fast-paced clinical environment, it is increasingly difficult to balance clinical demands with meaningful educational experiences. This interactive 50-minute workshop is designed to help educators of all stages and careers reinvigorate bedside teaching through practical, evidence-based strategies that can be immediately applied to daily clinical work.

The Department of Pediatrics welcomes everyone, including individuals with disabilities, to our events. To request accommodations, please contact Marcella Azucar at [email protected] or call 415-525-1360 as early as possible.
