Learning Objectives:

  1. Describe pediatric obesity as a complex chronic disease and summarize the latest national guideline recommendations for its evaluation, including assessment of obesity-related co-occurring conditions.

  2. Discuss evidence-based treatment interventions for pediatric overweight and obesity, including common barriers to implementation and key gaps in knowledge.

  3. Recognize the impact of weight bias and stigma on care delivery and patient engagement, and identify strategies to reduce these barriers in clinical practice.
