Joyce So, MD, PhD
Division Chief of Medical Genetics
Dr. So’s research is focused on rare genetic disorders and variants in psychiatric and other brain disorder populations, and she has published widely in this area. This research dovetails with her broader goal of generating information that may be used to improve health policy so that access to genetic testing and care becomes more equitable. She received her PhD in molecular genetics at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics in Berlin, Germany. Dr. So also completed a clinical research fellowship in psychiatric genetics at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto.
