Emilio Quezada Liuti, MD
Quezada counsels parents when congenital heart disease is detected during a pregnancy. His goal is empowering families to navigate the challenges of a new diagnosis by providing compassionate and respectful care.
Quezada's research examines the aorta in women with Turner syndrome, a rare genetic condition that causes multiple medical issues, often including heart defects. He is co-director of the Healthy Heart Project of the Turner Syndrome Society of the United States. Since 2021, he directs the Genetic Aortopathy clinic at Mission Bay, which evaluates and manages patients with genetic conditions that affect the aorta.
Quezada earned his medical degree from Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of South Florida, followed by a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). He completed a year of advanced training in fetal cardiology and noninvasive cardiac imaging at OHSU and UCSF.
Quezada is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the Fetal Heart Society, and American Society of Echocardiography.
