Manisha Israni-Jiang, MD

Manisha Israni-Jiang is a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of California San Francisco. She serves as the Assistant Medical Director for the Peri-Operative Medicine Consultative Services at UCSF Health.

Dr. Israni-Jiang earned her medical degree in Mumbai, India and then moved to the United States. She completed her residency in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California in 2008. She was elected as a Chief Resident in Pediatrics and worked as a Hospitalist at USC prior to starting at UCSF as faculty in 2010.

At UCSF, Dr. Israni-Jiang attends on the Medicine and Pediatric Teaching and Consultative services. She serves on several key medical center committees including Code Blue, Diabetes and Insulin Management, Utilization Review and Transitions Workgroup of the Wellness Center for Youth with Chronic Conditions.

In addition to her clinical interest in the medical care of surgical patients, Dr. Israni-Jiang has particular interest in improving care for young adults with chronic health conditions. She was the inaugural Inpatient Pediatric Transitions Director and has launched the ON TRACCC (Optimizing iNpatient TRansitions of Adults with Chronic Childhood Conditions) Consult Service which provides a continuity hospitalist for age-appropriate issues of adult aged patients while on pediatrics, guidance for development of longitudinal care plans and eventual establishment of care in adult medicine.
