FLAG Awards

FELLOWS' LEADERSHIP AND ADVOCACY GROUP MENTORSHIP AWARDS

Pediatric fellows recognize faculty for their exceptional support and guidance by presenting them with FLAG awards in leadership and mentorship.

Leadership Award

This award is given annually to a pediatric attending who has demonstrated leadership and advocacy on behalf of the pediatric fellows. Nominees will ideally have impacted many fellows within a division or in different divisions. The award will be given to the attending who receives the most votes.

Mentorship Award

This award is given annually to an attending (from any department) who has demonstrated excellence in direct mentorship of a fellow in either research or clinical activities. The spirit of this award is to honot that individual relationship that is so important for career development. To nominate a mentor, the fellow is asked to submit a brief description (limit: 300 words) of how the fellow's mentor has impacted the fellow's career during the past year. The winner is chosen by FLAG, based upon the substance of the mentoring relationship as described in the nomination. We honor those people who make a powerful commitment to individual fellows, but may not gain department-wide recognition.
